Migration to Jekyll is done!

I’ve finally decided to migrate the personal blog from wordpress to Jekyll. The main goal here is to stop being dependent on a database solution for blogging and trying to go light. It’s not to clear how this will work out. But for now it seems to be rather smooth. Hopefully, I can add more blog postings soon.

Here is a rough sketch of what I did:

  1. Dump the wordpress contents to an xml file via dashboard > tools > export
  2. Install poole theme for jekyll
  3. Modify the fonts and tweak the layout (slightly)
  4. Manually migrate the contents into _post directory

Note that step 4 from above can easily be automated.
